Title |
Download contents are corrupted when using the TransferFile method in the evaluation version of FileUp. |
Problem |
Evaluation versions of FileUp will put an HTML message in the server response, warning of the impending expiration 10 days before the expiration date. If using the TransferFile method of FileUp, this message will corrupt the contents of download stream, the contents of which, should only contain the file's binary data. The result will be that the user will see the expiration message, but the rest of the content will display as garbled text. |
Solution |
- New evaluation versions are available at the beginning of each month. Download the new version when it becomes available at: http://support.softartisans.com/eval.aspx.
The non-expiring version of FileUp may be purchased from the website.
- Test the TransferFile functionality by downloading a simple text (*.txt) file. While inserting HTML into some file types may corrupt the download, a text file will still display properly, but the warning message's HTML will be appended to the beginning of the file.
- For mission-critical evaluation deadlines, please contact SoftArtisans directly. It may be possible to provide an early release of the next month's evaluation version.
- If you are experiencing corrupted downloads with the non-expiring version of FileUp, or prior to the last 10 days before evaluation expiration, please see Knowledge Base article 216: Downloaded file is corrupted, containing meaningless characters.
