Title
safileupmon.dll 8-byte boundary error appears in the event log
Problem

The following error message may periodically appear in the Server Event Log:
"The data buffer created for the 'SAFileUpMon' service in the 'C:\WINNT\system32\SAFUpMon.dll' library is not aligned on an 8-byte boundary. This may cause problems for applications that are trying to read the performance data buffer. Contact the manufacturer of this library or service to have this problem corrected or to get a newer version of this library."

Solution

This 8-byte boundary error in the event log is a known issue currently under investigation. However, to our knowledge, the issue does not affect performance of the component or the server, and does not cause any problems other than the error message itself. The DLL safupmon.dll is an optional dll which allows you to add counters for FileUp in the Performance Monitor to more closely monitor FileUp's usage and success rate. If you wish, you can manually unregister and remove safilupmon.dll. It is usually found in this location: C:\WINNT\system32\SAFUpMon.dll.
