Error: Cannot open site (TBS)

Problem

The error message "Cannot open site (TBS)" is generated when Internet Explorer 3.02 (32-bit) is used in conjunction with NT Challenge/Response authentication.

This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 3.02 when using NT Challenge/Response authentication.

Solution

1) Upgrade from Internet Explorer 3.02 to IE 4 or 5, which solves this problem entirely.
OR
2) Turn off NT Challenge/Response authentication and use Basic authentication instead. This means that users will have to re-enter their usernames and passwords rather than having them transmitted automatically and securely by Internet Explorer.
