HOW TO: Modify The Location At Which SoftArtisans SessionPro Stores Session Data

Problem

With SoftArtisans SessionPro, the default directory for storing session data is c:/winnt/system32/inetsrv/xsession.

In this directory, you will see several 6-digit folders, at the end of which is an ini file. The ini file contains session data.

Solution

If you want to modify this path, or see where SessionPro is storing session data on your machine, go to Start, Run, and type “regedit”. Once the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following directory:

My Computer
  /HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    /Software
      /SMUM
        XSession
          /Parameters

Find the parameter named “Root” and look in the Data field to see the path where session data is being stored.

This is where you will modify the path in which SessionPro stores session data. After making the modification, you must reboot the server in order for your changes to take affect.
