XFile

Version 2 & Higher
Title
How will XFile be affected by the upcoming changes described in the MSDN white paper "Activating ActiveX Controls" (2006)?
Problem
Microsoft has published a white paper on the MSDN website detailing changes being made to Internet Explorer that will affect how ActiveX controls with graphical user interfaces will be activated: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/?url=/workshop/author/dhtml/overview/activating_activex.asp
Solution

XFile has been tested on the pre-release version of the ActiveX update and responds to the activation changes as described in the white paper.

Scripting/Automation:

You can still script against XFile for client-side automation. You will not need to make any changes to your code.

For User Interaction (use of XFile's GUI):

The user will need to click on XFile's GUI in order to activate it. After the user has activated the control, it will work as it always has.
