SAXFile dll issue on win2008 32 bit.

SAXFile dll issue on win2008 32 bit.

Recently we migrated our classic asp application from win 2000 to win 2008 32 bit server. Afer this upgrade we have problems uploading the document. For uploading documents we are using saxfile dll. Current SAX file dll version we are using is 1.0.7.2, this is working fine in win 2000, but having isses in win 2008 servers.

I also downloaded new sax file cab (new sax file ll version is 2.1.7.20333) and installed, still geting the same issue, Application shows documnet was uploaded, but when we go back and check, the document was not available.

Please provide any resolution for this

XFile is the client-side control that sends the file from the client. It is not affected by your server OS. It sounds like you changed your server configuration not your client. Are you using FileUp to process the upload on the server? If so, what version of FileUp are you running? Very old versions of FileUp are not compatible with Windows 2008.

We made the change to server. Client is not changed, also the old servers are behaving as expeced with same client. We are using a saxfile.cab to upload the documents.

Below are the dlls and their versions in current saxfile.cab.

MSVCP60.DLL  - 6.0.8168.0.

saarch.dll  -  1.0.7.0.

SAAXFile.dll  - 1.0.5.4.

SAFilMgr.dll  - 2.0.1.8.

SAFmgPws.dll - 2.0.1.8.

SAXFile.dll - 1.0.7.2.

SAXFShEx.dll - 1.0.2.5.

XFile runs only on the client. There has to be something on the server to process the uploads. Most of our customers are using FileUp in their server-side code. Depending on how you wrote your client-side code, it's possible that something could be going wrong on the server and you could be failing to capture and display the error.

If you want to see which pages you need to troubleshoot on the server, look at the URL assigned to the CurrentURL property in your client-side XFile code.


If you have FileUp installed on the server, what version are you running? The FileUp installer comes with many samples which you could install temporarily to test your FileUp installation. Since your XFile dlls are quite old, if you are using FileUp I would assume your FileUp dlls are very old too and probably not compatible with Windows 2008R2. So it may be that the first thing you need to do is upgrade the product.
