Title
Generic 500 Errors: How to disable friendly HTTP error messages in Internet Explorer in order to obtain more descriptive error messages.
Problem
HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
If this is the only error message shown in the server response, (there are no SoftArtisans' product specific, or ASP specific technical details), Internet Explorer may have replaced the server response containing a more specific error with a "Friendly HTTP Error Message". To prevent this from happening, make sure that the "Show Friendly HTTP error messages" setting is not checked.
Solution
To turn off "Friendly HTTP error messages",
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the Tools menu.
  3. Click the Internet Options... menu item.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Scroll down and make sure Show friendly HTTP error messages is unchecked.
