| Installer prompts you to first install .Net, J# and Reporting Services even though they are already installed. |
| Problem |
| When installing OfficeWriter with Reporting Services integration, the installer uses registry keys to determine if the prerequisite software has been installed. In some cases, Reporting Services did not create the expected keys and the OfficeWriter Installer will not allow you to finish the Reporting Services portion of the install. |
| Solution |
| Use the attached .reg file to add the registry key the OfficeWriter installer uses to check if Reporting Services has been installed and the installer should allow you to proceed with the Reporting Services portion of the Install.
After the install finishes check the Reporting Services bin directory to see if support for OfficeWriter has been added.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.x\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
If the bin does not contain SAWW3NET.dll, SAXW6NET.dll and SoftArtisans.OfficeWriter.v3.RS2000/2005.dll then the following three manual steps will be required.
For Reporting Services 2000
1) Copy SAWW3NET.dll and SAXW6NET.dll from the OfficeWriter installer bin directory into the reporting services bin directory
Copy SoftArtisans.OfficeWriter.v3.RS2000.dll from the OfficeWriter installer ReportingServices directory into the reporting services bin directory
2) Edit RSReportServer.config according to http://docs.softartisans.com/OfficeWriterWindows/3.8.1/ReportingServices2000/install/server_install.aspx
3) Edit rssrvpolicy.config according to
http://docs.softartisans.com/OfficeWriterWindows/3.8.1/ReportingServices2000/install/server_install.aspx
For Reporting Services 2005
1) Copy SAWW3NET.dll and SAXW6NET.dll from the OfficeWriter installer bin directory into the reporting services bin directory
Copy SoftArtisans.OfficeWriter.v3.RS2005.dll from the OfficeWriter installer ReportingServices directory into the reporting services bin directory
2) Edit RSReportServer.config according to
