Title
SMTPmail uninstaller error: SASMTP.dll is in use and cannot be uninstalled.
Problem

The SMTPmail uninstaller does not stop IIS before attempting to unregister the SMTPmail.dll file. This results in the following error message during uninstallation: 

UnInstallShield has detected that 
'c:\Program Files\SoftArtisans\SMTPmail\SASMTP.dll' 
is in use. Please close the application 
using this file and launch uninstallShield again.
Solution
The solution is to cancel out of the uninstaller and then manually stop IIS. This will release the dll.
  1. Cancel out of the uninstaller program and close any browser instances.
  2. Click Start --> Run
  3. Type "iisreset /stop"
  4. Click OK.
  5. A DOS-style window should appear confirming that IIS has been stopped.
  6. Run the uninstaller again.
  7. You may need to manually start IIS after running the uninstaller. The command to do so is "iisreset /start"
