In ExcelWriter v5, when using the .NET or Java ExcelTemplate class to populate a template, some characters in the template are corrupted, including degree symbols and international characters.

This was a bug in ExcelWriter. It was fixed in version 5.5.2.5587.

If you are experiencing this problem, please upgrade to version 5.5.3 or higher.
