Removing SoftArtisans XFile from the Client
The first time XFile is downloaded to the browser, Internet Explorer registers the XFile
dlls on the client. To remove XFile from the client:
- Close all instances of Internet Explorer to remove XFile from memory.
- Open a new instance of Internet Explorer.
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- Under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.
- Click View Objects.
- Select and delete any XFile controls that have been installed.
If these controls do not appear in the Internet Explorer Temporary Internet
Files Folder after using XFile in a Web page on the client, then it is possible that the
XFile dlls were registered directly with regsvr32, and must be removed using regsvr32.
See "Manual Removal" above for instructions.
If the dlls were in memory, and you receive any errors about an
incomplete removal, it may be necessary to restart the machine before
attempting to download and register new dlls.
